Rust cause

1. It is possible that the lifting tongs did not undergo anti-rust treatment in strict accordance with the requirements of anti-rust packaging during the manufacturing process.

2. Damage to the tong itself caused by untimely maintenance and cleaning after use or improper method, which causes oil contamination to immerse under the paint surface, and incorrect use of lubricating oil for maintenance.

3. If there is a problem in the storage environment, the lifting tongs should be stored at room temperature under clean, dry and well-ventilated conditions, and placed on the shelf, away from corrosive gas and various corrosive substances.

Rust degree analysis

If the rust is within 10% of the thickness of the steel plate lifting clamp, the rust shall be removed immediately, and it shall be scrapped beyond the scope. It is important to know that iron becomes brittle after oxidation reaction, which affects the overall strength of lifting tongs and further diffuses.

Whether the lifting tongs can continue to be used after rusting depends on the degree of rusting, and can refer to the above scrapping standards.

Derusting method

1. Manual rust removal: a relatively simple and effective method, suitable for slight rust. Only use abrasive paper or steel brush to remove rust spots, and then paint for protection.

2. Mechanical derusting: use special grinding wheel or other machines to derust the lifting tongs, which is applicable to severe corrosion. However, it should be noted that during derusting, too much loss should be avoided as much as possible and scrapped as much as possible.

3. Chemical derusting method, which uses strong acid or nitric acid alkaline liquid to remove rust on the surface, needs to understand the relevant reaction principle to avoid damaging the good part.
