Relevant knowledge of electric hoist drum

      The number of drum layers of electric hoist wire rope can be single or multiple. Most cranes use single-layer drums, and the spiral grooves are usually cut off on the surface. The steel wire rope is wound in the groove at one time, which increases the contact area between the rope and the drum, reduces the unit pressure, and prevents the friction between adjacent steel wire ropes, thus extending the service life of the steel wire rope.

       Multi-layer winding electric hoist drum is used in the case of large lifting height and limited length of electric hoist drum, such as truck crane. Multi-layer winding electric hoist drum is generally made of smooth surface. Its inner wire rope is squeezed by the outer wire rope, and there is friction between adjacent rope loops during winding, which reduces the rope life. In addition, when the rope tension is constant, the load torque changes with the number of rope layers on the drum, resulting in unstable load torque. In order to improve the release status of the wire rope on the electric hoist drum and increase the service life of the rope, there are also multi-layer winding electric hoist drums with spiral grooves

        Electric hoist drum can be cast or welded, and seamless steel pipe can also be used. The casting electric hoist drum is generally made of cast iron not less than HT200, and cast steel such as ZG230-450 and ZG270-500 are used for special needs. The important electric hoist drum can be made of nodular cast iron. In order to reduce the mass and increase the strength, the electric hoist drum is mostly made of Q235A and 16MN steel plate by welding.

       The diameter of the electric hoist drum directly affects the bending strength of the wire rope. To ensure the service life of the wire rope, the diameter of the drum cannot be too small, and the winding diameter of the electric hoist drum must be greater than a certain multiple of the diameter of the wire rope.
