The welding and die forging production processes of lifting tongs are vastly different.
Welding process: Needless to say, welding process is a common manufacturing process in our daily life. Nowadays, many people can weld twice, with low technical difficulty. It is a manufacturing process that combines metal or other thermoplastic materials by heating and high temperature, with relatively low cost. After finishing, the appearance still looks rough and easy to identify with the naked eye.
Die forging process: A forging method in which the lifting tongs are placed on a dedicated die forging equipment and the blank is formed using a mold to obtain the forging. This process produces products with beautiful size, appearance, high production efficiency, and small machining allowance.
Advantages of the forging process:
Forging enables complete metal processing
Due to the influence of high temperature and pressure, defects such as loose cast state and more slag inclusions may occur during the melting process. However, there are no such defects in forging. Detailed structural optimization, metal can be completely retained, and mechanical properties will be superior to castings of the same material.
2. Forged with a tighter metal structure
After forging, the metal undergoes thermal deformation. After precision machining, the original coarse grains become fine and uniform. The original pores in the metal are compacted, and the pores are eliminated. The structure becomes more compact, impact resistant, wear-resistant, and not easy to fracture. This is a good measure for improving the strength of PDQ lifting tongs.
