Fixture types can be divided into:

　　① General fixture. Such as machine vise, chuck, sucker, indexing head and rotary table, etc., have great versatility, can better adapt to the transformation of processing processes and processing objects, its structure has been set, size, specifications have been serialized, most of which have become a standard attachment of machine tools.

　　② Special fixture. Specially designed and manufactured for the clamping needs of a certain product part in a certain process, the service object is specific, and the pertinence is very strong, generally designed by the product manufacturer. Commonly used are lathe jigs, milling machine jigs, drill dies (machine jigs used to guide the tool to drill or ream holes on the workpiece), boring dies (machine jigs used to guide the boring rod to boring holes on the workpiece) and accompanying jigs (mobile jigs used on the automatic line of the combined machine tool).

　　③ Adjustable fixture. Special clamps for changing or adjusting components.

　　④ Combination fixture. Fixtures consisting of standardised components of different shapes, specifications and uses are suitable for new product trial production, small batch production and temporary tasks where products are frequently replaced.
