What are the components of a fixture

Any complete set of fixtures are generally composed of the following parts:

  1. Positioning element. It is a fixture element that is in contact with the workpiece positioning datum so that the workpiece has the correct position relative to the machine tool.

2, clamping mechanism. It is a mechanism used to tighten the workpiece to ensure that the correct position occupied by the workpiece positioning is not destroyed by external force and vibration during the processing.

3, tool element and guide element. The cutter element is used to ensure the accurate position of the fixture, such as the cutter block of the milling machine fixture. The guide element can guide and keep the position and direction correct, such as drill sleeve, boring sleeve, etc.

  4. Be specific. It is the foundation of the whole fixture, and all the components and mechanisms of the fixture are installed on it, making it a whole.

  5. Other components and mechanisms. In addition to the above main components and mechanisms, some fixtures also have directional components, indexing mechanisms, locking mechanisms, connectors, springs, pins and bushings.
